The simple answer to this question is NO. The human body does not work that way,you can burn fat,and you build Muscle. The most fat cells can be is filled up and emptied when losing weight. Those who lost allot of fat before and gained it back a later time tends to gain fat easier/faster because their body already created the fat cells prior. And all it has to do is refill that fat cell. Building muscle on the other hand is a very slow steady process. Your body has to actually create muscle and it is extremely slow for it to be done regardless given proper macros *protein/carbs/fats*.
Confusion comes when someone who has been exercising for a while looking "big" then they stop working out and look all fat. That can be because of many reasons or all of the below
1. They gained more fat "fat is above your lbm*lean body mass* not below".
2. They lost muscle so their fat appears much bigger.
Seen this idea floating around,quickly decided to post about it.
