But ye you should get defence at like 75-80 cb when you have good stats

Well I got 71 now, I felt like if I did it now it would make getting strength\attack up easier anyways because of prayer bonus on initiate.

Get 52+ prayer, it'll help a ton. I'm personally getting 65-70 since I got wrecked today as well Lol.
