I don't know how many of you are familiar with the word 'BNC,' but I'll give you guys a quick rundown anyway. A BNC is something to keep you online via IRC, regardless of if you dc, shut off your computer, close irc etc. It keeps you on IRC and doesn't disconnect you unless the IRC server itself disconnects. They are very useful and they will now be enforced for Hero/Legend+
For those of you who don't have a registered IRC nick and or BNC, I will now teach you how.

~ Registering your IRC Nick  ~

Okay so first off, obviously you'll need QWeb/Swiftkit/mIRC.

In stages of difficulty, mIRC is highest, and qweb/swiftkit are low. They are very easy to use.

Once you enter IRC with [CP]David (for example)
To register my nick I would type

/ns register lol293 lol293 [email protected] [email protected]

Whatever it is, it will always be

/ns register passwordhere passwordhererepeated emailhere emailhererepeated

Remember, NEVER use the same password for anything.

Once you've typed that, you will receive an email (make sure the email is legit) asking you to type a command in IRC

Type as it shows on your email

/ns confirm codehere

Once you've finished that, you're all done registering your name! So everytime you enter IRC, type /ns id passhere

~ Applying for a BNC ~

(If you don't want to apply for this yourself for whatever reason, find me on ts or irc and I'll do it for you.)

Requirements:

10 Days of being registered on SwiftIRC

Registered Nickname

If you meet these requirements, type

/join #bnc

After that, type

/msg freebnc BNC

The rest will be in the spoiler due to it being long

Having a BNC pretty much makes our IRC channel a lot more active, which is our main communication method anyway. The more of us in IRC the better because that's one of the first things Apps see when they join us.

Start wearing a [CP] tag if you don't already and apply for your BNC.
- You don't get ping timeouts when you're on your BNC.
- Your IRC Nick is online 24/7 so you're always available to be PMed, and it stores your PMs while your offline.
- It shows that we're unified and not some shit clan like SV/RD with 3 members in IRC.

Btw, you can't apply for the BNC if you use qwebirc (the CP web client) so if you want to play RS and have IRC at a perfect view, I suggest you use SwiftKit. If you would rather use the RS client, then mIRC is for you (you can also add scripts/games/etc to mIRC since its a little more hi-tech).
