I use MATlab scripts a bit for my Chemical Engineering degree.  Mostly because its pretty powerful for graphing stuff that excel can't do.  When they taught us how to use it they showed us how to do loops and if.. then commands but I never use it.  Also done some simulink stuff.

It doesnt take too long to learn, just make sure you use the help tool so that you are using the right code and using it correctly

By the way, what do you have a degree in?

Chemical Engineering as I said, still studying. I'm in my 3rd year, and matrices are useful for plotting a lot of data points

Matlab is aids. I had to use it for school and rather than uninstalling the program after the class I simply purchased a new hard drive.
Haha that's what I've heard about it. But I've also heard that it gets fun when you learn it.
What did you use it for in your class and what did you/are you studying?

Sorry I missed that! Seems like our programs are quite similar :)

Thankfully, never REALLY had to since I'm a real estate major. Mostly just Excel, but for the math classes I have taken for statistics we did use Matlab but not nearly as much as you are.

Aka fuck math

Only really had math that was needed for cryptography, so:

- Abstract alegbra (REALLY complex, spend way too much time on this subject)
- Algorithms (mostly RSA, Diffie Hellman)
- Probability (Easy compared to AA)

OT: Never used mathlabs, heard from other students that it wasn't that good though..

What's up guys? This topic is mainly for the science nerds in this clan ^_^

- What's your experience with MATLAB?
- How long did it take to learn?

I just got introduced to it in a math class and it seems pretty complicated.

To include the rest: what's your experience with flipping burgers?

use it regularly for my EE eng Degree (final year atm), so been using it for 3 years now roughly. i'm not as experienced as i'd like to be but i can work with it.
